In December 2022 Welsh Government changed the law around how tenants rent their homes in Wales. This included private and social letting landlords throughout the country.

Your Tenancy Agreement has automatically swaped over to an Occupation Contract.

The changes have no effect on your rent and will not cost you any more money.

The changes mean:

  • More succession rights to pass on your home
  • All properties must be safe and habitable
  • Landlords must give tenants 2 months notice of any rent increases
  • Landlords will be able to repossess abandoned properties without a court order, providing investigations have taken place.
